Soot and Ways We Get Rid Of It

8/25/2020 (Permalink)

Soot, that powdery blackish greyish stuff left behind on contents and walls after a fire. While it may seem impossible to get rid of we have our ways. You may not realize but smoke penetrates through drywall and insulation to the studs of the property. After exposing the studs we come in with a special type of sponge. This sponge when used on the studs soaks up the soot left behind. This process takes some time to complete but it drastically helps reduce the odor left behind from the soot! Now sponging won't always completely get rid of the odor. For that we use a sealant, spraying or rolling the sealant over all of the surfaces affected leaving a fresh smell!

Give us a call once the fire trucks leave to start the process of putting your property back together! 856-339-0500.
